This charismatic flower and pagoda design is based on an 18th-century document - an early example of French Chinoiserie that relied on wood-block printing, rather than engraved plates, for its simplified motif. The results have a graphic, hand-hewn charm that ' hard to resist. To highlight that effect in this new wallcovering adaptation, we enlarged the pattern to a lavish scale, giving the centuries-old scheme a fresh and modern relevance. Colorways only augment the allure: Lacquer is a combination of deep red against white, Cocoa marries ivory with brown, and Porcelain is a blend of vivid indigo and white.
