Polytex Black is manufactured from High Density Polyethylene (HDPE), using a monofilament and tape construction. The fabric is produced by knitting the monofilament and tape together utilizing Raschel Knit- (lock stitch) construction to ensure that the fabric will not tear or fray if cut or pierced by sharp objects. Polytex Black has been designed for shade structures and architectural shade sails, providing UVA and UVB protection greater than 95%. Its high strength to weight ratio, UV performance and fire rating make it the ideal choice for small scale projects where shade and protection are desired. This fabric is lead and phthalate free.
