PatioLane.com features a family of online outdoor/indoor living stores, as well as shares a brick 'n mortar showroom with our sister company Awning Works Inc. in Clearwater, Florida. Since 2003 we have been the premium fabric distributor for Sunbrella fabrics as well as 1,000s of outdoor performance fabrics and textile supplies that cater to the awning, marine, automotive and contract/hospitality industries. In addition, we feature interior decor fabrics, custom cushions, pillows and other finished goods plus dozens of awning and shade solutions to help complete any outdoor space.
PatioLane.com is owner operated by four family members and chances are, whether you stop by the showroom in person or communicate with us via email, chat, or phone, that one of the owners will be helping you complete your project.
Our knowledgeable sales associates can help educate you about the specific fabric choices that we carry and their intended use. We go out of our way to provide superior customer service and it’s for this reason that we have been serving customers all over the world since 2003.
In addition to all of the products that we carry online and in our showroom, a big part of what we do is special fabrication projects. This is all made possible by the first company that our family started in 1985, Awning Works Inc. Over the years we’ve sewn and customized everything from cushions and doggie beds to Sunbrella pool floats, and even airplane cockpit covers.
We hope that you will find design and inspiration from our website and blog and if you’re in the Clearwater, FL area, we hope that you’ll stop by our showroom where you can take a look, feel and touch, thousands of awning, marine and automotive fabrics as well as luxurious decor fabrics from brands such as Kravet, Thibaut and Ralph Lauren.
In our Clearwater showroom, we display a wide variety of outdoor living products, including retractable pergolas, privacy screens and solar shades. Whether you’re a designer wanting to bring a client or just someone who has a little DIY creativity of their own, we are here to help inspire you.
In 1985 Steven & Deborah Schechner opened Awning Works Inc. Their young sons, Jarrett and Jeremy grew up learning the awning and canopy business, doing everything from welding to awning installs.
They sure have come a long way. Jarrett, the older son, and VP of sales, works closely with architects and designers on awning and shade projects with Awning Works, where Jeremy, in 2003, started an e-commerce development business, under the name of eCentral Stores Inc. and created our 1st online store, Outdoor Fabric Central, selling the fabric they used most in the awning business, Sunbrella.
Since 2003, there have been several more e-commerce online stores added, including: Outdoor Textiles, which includes well-known fabric brands such as WeatherMax, Textilene, Ferrari, Patio 500, and Phifertex; and FabricCopia, which is geared toward interior decor fabrics for upholstery, bedding and drapery applications. The website FabricCopia holds a special meaning to Jeremy and his wife Wendy, (who also joined the family business in 2008 as their VP of Marketing) as "Copia" includes a portion of each of his children’s names in the title.
Our outstanding track record with our customers quickly made us one of the world's leading fabric suppliers for outdoor decor and exterior marine applications. In 2014, there was a major website makeover, combining all of the e-commerce stores under one umbrella, calling it Patio Lane.
We have also taken another step forward and now have many exclusive labeled Sunbrella patterns. PatioLane.com continues to evolve and be known in the industry as the authoritative figure on outdoor fabrics and outdoor living concepts. We as a family are committed to the effort of continually adding new high-quality products, staying in trend with the most innovative shade and outdoor living solutions, and providing the most exceptional customer service possible.
