We’ve updated our fabric selections with new information from our suppliers related to PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and medical use as many of our fabrics are used in the medical institutional industry. Although no suppliers make any COVID-19 claims, the fabrics in this category can be used for a wide array of health safety applications. Many have passed Level 1, 2, and 3 AAMI PB70:2012 liquid barrier performance tests, which is recognized by the FDA and standards outlined in ASTM F2407. These Medical Grade and PPE fabrics, which due to their resistance to water penetration and anti-microbial properties, can be used to make isolation drapes and gowns for medical facilities. For PPE home-use masks, our suppliers recommend the use of Level 1 approved Sunbrella Canvas Fabrics.
MMT is best known worldwide for its use as a Medical Mattress Ticking but the fabric is also well suited for many other applications and is fire retardant rated in addition to being anti-microbial.
These fabrics can be sewn (see our Thread Selection) and welded (see specifications) for many personal and commercial uses. Please always consult with your equipment manufacturer for specific information on your manufacturing processes.
