In the past, performance fabrics were only used in contract and hospitality applications. The launch of Barclay Butera’s exclusive indoor/outdoor collection for Kravet Soleil called, Bungalow and Retreat, uses conventional prints infused with modern color and soft texture that captures the ocean breezes. In concert with the publishing of his latest book, Getaways and Retreats, Barclay Butera presents an introspective look at how his style evolved into the current collections. The Kravet Soleil indoor/outdoor fabrics are imbued with thoughtful design, combining colors and layering textures with patterns. Each of his 67 fabric patterns is soft and light. Pitch Oyster is a neutral rainbow of terry and cotton texture. Performance never felt so gentle.
Windsor Smith’s Tahitian Holiday collection draws on the elements of practical fabric for everyday wear and weather. As a designer for celebrities, Windsor Smith is famous for her ability to expose her clients’ personalities through organic design elements. Tahitian Holiday fabrics are vibrant and happy with pinks and blues that match up with soft, sandy neutrals. Thirty-three patterns come together along with water’s edge where surf, sun and sand meet.
Echo Design features a bold perspective with Surf, Papaya, Punch, Lime and Tobacco colors. Very rich hues topped with white and cream patterns offer a playful, yet elegant Spring and Summer palette in 63 uplifting options that include practical patterns like Attire, Needlework (solids), Vista View (fuzzy stripes), Ashore, Ogee Knot, and Philo. Color takes on an aspect of texture and pulls the richer, more intensified blues and browns into a full array of modern upholstery design.
