Guy Harvey’s RumFish Grill located in the Tradewinds Island Resort attracts not only tourists but even locals within the St. Petersburg, Florida area. This restaurant allows you to dine "under the sea" along a $1 million aquarium that was constructed and featured on Animal Planet’s hit show, Tanked. Want an even closer look? Guests can even snorkel in the 33,500 gallon aquarium to get a firsthand look at 30 different species of fish and even sharks, too.
Patio Lane is excited to announce our latest project: rejuvenating RumFish’s seating. One of our main goals is to help our customers keep the outside of their home or business looking just as beautiful and fresh as the inside. With this being said, RumFish Grill needed new seating for their outdoor dining area and bar. The old cushions utilized velcro ties that had rotted and were too short to effectively secure them to their frames. This downfall in design would require employees to spend too much time moving cushions in and out any time inclement weather was expected. On top of this being inconvenient, they were also left with less time to prepare for and attend to customers.
The ultimate goal was to make cushions that could stay outside all the time with minimal effort. For this reason, RumFish chose Sunbrella RAIN Canvas Ginkgo Waterproof Upholstery Fabric. The ginkgo fabric matches perfectly with the awning/marine fabric on their outdoor umbrellas, so we were able to provide new cushions without requiring a complete change in their color scheme. Thanks to Sunbrella’s wide range of RAIN fabrics, we could provide the same fabric, but with greater performance for the outdoor environment. We also improved the design on their cushions by adding fabric ties. With the addition of these ties and RAIN fabric, RumFish can now leave their cushions outdoors all the time; allowing for outdoor seating that’s readily available even with Florida’s daily downpours. RumFish employees simply wipe off the surface moisture and they’re back in business with cushions that are immediately dry after it rains.
